CBC this week! Survey what classes do you want?

Hello everyone!

There's still a week to get your thoughts heard!

This past Friday was awesome, insane, and quite the event!  Thanks to everyone who donated to and/or attended the Byron Saunders Foundation Dancing with our Columbus Stars Fundraiser!  The event this year featured 9 couples performing with a local dance pro and we were competing to get the judges scores, the popular vote, AND raise the most money for the Foundation!  With all of our hard work and your donations $113,000 was raised through this event to give local families Thanksgiving Meals!!  Sammy & Iliana killed with a high flying routine, while Scott and I are honored to have received the highest Judges Scores and finish 2nd Overall!

This week is CBC DanceSport Competition at the Renaissance Hotel Polaris/Westerville!

You all can come, watch, shop, play dress-up, and support your peers Thursday evening -Saturday!

Tickets for spectators are available at the door for $30-$60

Thursday evening after 7pm is Club night with a dress as your favorite musical artist theme!  The Crystal Ballroom is doing  a Viennese Waltz Formation to a Metallica song, so join Mira, Melissa, Aleia, Becca, Dani, Branda, Sophia, Spencer, Sammy, Holly, Barclay and myself by wearing black with silver studs and leather! :)  You can also support Branda as she competes a few club dances!

Friday morning starting at 7am are the Rhythm heats (Cha Cha, Rumba, EC Swing, Bolero, Mambo) come support Branda and Dani as they compete with Spencer and Sammy!

Friday Evening the top students and Rising Star Professionals compete.

Saturday morning starting at 7am are the Smooth heats (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz).  Come support Branda as she competes with Spencer and Sammy, and Steve, Mira and Dani as they compete AmAm!

Saturday evening enjoy watching the top students and top Professionals plus Awards.

Showcase Casting SOON!

Do y'all have any ideas about what theme you would like?  (for formations etc) Some ideas we have are "Fantasy" "Video Games" "Around the World" "Dinosaurs"  Respond to the email with your ideas!

There are 3 Fun Ways to be involved in a Showcase

#1. Dance Heats - put on a fun outfit and dance with your instructor (or partner)  to show off the dances you have been working on and get fantastic written feedback!

#2. Join a Group Formation - These formations are a great way to get to know a few people as you take weekly dance classes together and then perform a fun routine at the end, if you have ideas for a particular dance or song, let me know!!

#3. Be the Star in your own SOLO - Solo means  you get your "Dancing with the Stars" experience.  Pick the song or the dance and let your instructor create a routine for you to show off your skills and push you to learn a few new ones!  The themes are always fun and this can be a great way to relive a great moment or cherish an important moment in your life!

Westies keep an eye out for a 1-day Rally Prep Class!

We want to make the International West Coast Swing Rally possible for everyone in the WCS Community as well as the newbies and those who are just getting involved.  For this reason we will be hosting a 1 day prep class for those who already know WCS so that you can join us on September 6th as we perform around town.  This has always been a really fun bonding day for those in the WCS Community and we are working to preserve the Community Building aspect of this amazing Rally!  We have also been reached out to by a group in Cleveland to organize some performances together!  MORE DETAILS COMING NEXT WEEK!

Dinosaurs?

 and Tango?

We are going to start a FUN class on Thursdays on August 21st (after CBC Dancesport Competition)  It is called the "Triceritops Tango"  Imagine a fun dinosaur theme throughout the class as you enjoy fun exercises and steps in Tango!  Don't worry, this is still a class for adults BUT you get to let out your silly wild side and maybe learn something about dinosaurs you didn't know before! :)

This Thursday-Saturday join us at Renaissance Polaris/Westerville for CBC DanceSport Competition and don't miss our Wonderful Saturday Night Party preceded by Country 2-Step group classes for two levels!
