Donation Dance Oct 24th, Byron Saunders, Halloween

Hello everyone!

This year the needs in our community hit me differently.  A former dancer in the Columbus area reached out in need, she has mostly been wheelchair bound, and diagnosed with a debilitating disease.  She told me that she relies on the local food banks to eat most of the time and wanted to be sure to get a box of food from Byron Saunders!  She personally reached out since she knows we've been involved in fundraising for the organization and I have the privelidge to pick up her Thanksgiving Food Box and hand deliver it!  When you know someone personally it all the sudden becomes real, and I'm thankful for this wakeup call.  With that being said, we'd like to offer 2 ways to make a difference to those in need this Holiday season...

DONATE - The Crystal Ballroom has organized a Byron Saunders Donation Dance on October 24th from 7-8:30pm.

Entry "Fee" to the dance is one of the following options

~Donate a $20 Gift Card (for the Thanksgiving Turkey) to be entered into the raffle for $50 off your next purchase at The Crystal Ballroom! or

~Donate at least 3 Food Drive Items

This week I spoke with Brian Wollenburg (founder of The Byron Saunders Foundation) and he said it's crazy how much need there is , and they are struggling to get enough $20 gift cards to supply every family with a Thanksgiving Turkey.  Your donations will help those in need in Central Ohio!  

VOLUNTEER - The Crystal Ballroom has organized a Byron Saunders Day of Volunteering on November 16th from 3pm-7pm.  Please sign up now for one of the 20 spots we've claimed (only 13 spots remaining!).  Come with us (carpool if you want) to their warehouse in Groveport Ohio to help pack food boxes!

So, if you are able, please help us bring some food, joy, and care to our community this Holiday season!

As a studio we are thankful to have devoted, kind, hard working people to help make our community the accepting place it is!  

Jocelyn started with us as a friendly dancer attending our dances, and we soon found out she had a background as a dance instructor and was wanting to be part of our team.  Jocelyn has been a friendly consistent face, and someone who dances every dance during the parties, giving everyone a great experience!  We've been thankful to be able to rely on her to fill in for classes and be part of our Saturday nights!

Holly started with us in a group teacher training and then impressed us with learning the entire Core 6 Teacher Training in just 1 month passing out with more knowledge and determination than many of our other previous employees!  Her determination, communication skills, kindness, and clarity are a wonderful fit for our studio and we are proud to continue working with her as she moves into retirement!

Halloween is coming, it's fun to decorate the ballroom and have a night of dressing up, entertaining everyone and scaring you all! :)

If you are great at decorating, love Halloween, or just enjoy hanging out and as a community, join David and I on Sunday October 26th as we begin assembling our Halloween Animatronics and spreading cobwebs and decor around the studio! :)  Free pizza and pop to those who come hang out and help out!

Latin Halloween Party & Haunted Ballroom

$20 Drop-In

This is an extra-special Latin Dance Party with light snacks, a fully haunted maze experience, costume contest, plus two rooms of dancing!  Salsa/Bachata in our 2,400sq ft ballroom, plus Kizomba/Zouk in our 800sq ft small ballroom.  Both floors are sprung to relieve pressure on your knees!

Don't miss our yearly Halloween Contests with prizes for Best Couple's Costume, Most Creative Costume, and Scariest Costume!  Plus Potluck winners for Scariest Dish, Most Creative Dish, and Best Tasting Dish!  We'll have our haunted ballroom as well as some scary-good experiences and OF COURSE great dancing with great people!
