Hello everyone!

Here are ALL the answers to your questions about

Potluck, Costume Contest & Dance Party!!!

1. Do I need to pre-register?

It always makes it easier to plan an event when we know approximately how many people are coming, so pre-registration is recommended but not required. If you are not a member, it's $30, if you are a member (Party Pass or Crystal Unlimited it's $15) CLICK HERE TO PRE-REGISTER

2. Is there a sign-up for the potluck?

No, for halloween we are not trying to guarantee a full meal, so bring whatever makes you happy to share, and enter our contests for Scariest Dish, Favorite Dish, and Most Creative Dish!

3. Should I eat beforehand?

Yes, I would not depend on the potluck being a filling and well-rounded meal, it tends to be more snacks and desserts for Halloween.

4. I don't do haunted houses, is the event scary?

The event itself is not scary, however some of the costumes may be... and our haunted house has plenty of animatronics.  You do not have to go through the haunted house, it is an optional fun addition to the event.  

5. What are the categories for Costume Contest & Potluck Competition?

There are 7 Categories to compete in...

Potluck: Scariest Dish, Favorite Dish, Most Creative Dish

Costume: Scariest Costume, Best Couple's Costume, Most Creative, and BEST OVERALL COSTUME (with a $100 Prize!!!)

6. Why do I want to be there?

This party is a great way to let go, have fun, be part of our community, be entertained, enjoy some great/creative food, and OF COURSE dance the night away!

7. When does the dancing start?

6:30pm Doors Open

7:00pm Potluck & Potluck Contest Begins (music playing)

7:45pm DJ David Spins your Spooky Tunes (dancing officially begins)

8:30pm Spooky Lesson/Performance

8:45pm Costume Contest

9:45pm Winners announced

10pm Party's over, enjoy the rest of your evening!!

I'd like to thank Buckeye Bop Club, Julia, Bob, Gary, Fran, and Ruth for all of the help Spookifying the ballroom on Sunday!  Your creativity, patience, and willingness to help are appreciated more than you know!  After the decorating we enjoyed food, then even carved some pumpkins!

My favorite event of the year is coming up!  On December 6th (starting at 2pm) will be our Candy Cane and Coal: Fun Match & Showcase!  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign up for dances and receive a prize!!  Talk to one of our instructors to sign up to dance!  Think of this as the Dave & Busters of Ballroom, prizes for every entry, fun for all, and even an opportunity to learn a Solo Dance and perform!  We (of course) have our favorite photographer Tom Wehrung coming to capture the afternoon and look forward to sharing this event with the Columbus Dance Community! Let your friends know everyone is welcome to come watch & participate!

Along with all of the classes, private lessons, and holiday fun this week, I also got the honor of being on the judging panel for the OSU Ballroom Competition again.  When I get a chance to be around the collegiate ballroom students I am reminded why I love dance, and ballroom especially!  This is the first place I felt included and accepted, and to see the love and passion for dance and the friendships they've created is so beautiful.  Thanks again to Dana and OSU Ballroom Team for including me on the panel and giving me a chance to be inspired!

Holiday Group Fun Number!

Classes every Wednesday at 6:15pm

It's time to commit to the class!  For only $140 you can learn this furn routine, perform it, and participate in the entire Candy Cane & Coal Event!  This choreography is beginner friendly and we'll have time to really put some polish on this East Coast Swing to "Jingle Bell Rock"!  Come join the fun and holiday festivities! Show up this week to join!!

This Friday is Salsaween (Latin Dance Party).  Then, join us Saturday for an awesome Halloween Party!!
