Independence Day Winners, WCS Rally This Week, Dancing with Our Columbus Stars Fundraiser!

Hello everyone!

Thanks to everyone who shared time, food, and dancing with us on Saturday at our Independence Day Potluck! We are so thankful to have such great people (and cooks) at our studio!

Thanks also to The Crystal ballroom Team for the support while David and I were on vacation, as well as helping us put together a great event for all of you!  Thank you to Jerry Bean for DJing.  And last but not least, thank you to my wonderful husband David for shopping, grilling, and making sure everyone is taken care of at The Crystal Ballroom!

For all of our experienced dance students - VIP Private Lesson Students, Medal Class Attendees, and Unlimited Members - I would like to extend a special invite to you!

Join us this Wednesday for the first Social Dance 101 Dance Party!!

As you know you have access to all of our regular group classes and parties, and this coming Wednesday is a very special one!  This is the Beginner Dance Party that we will be hosting every 7 weeks going forward at the end of our Social Dance 101 Class!  What a great way to meet those new to dancing, encourage them on their journey and practice your Core 6 (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing) Dances with each other and those new to dancing!  From 7-8:30pm we will be partying and supporting each other and the growth of our community. (For anyone else this party will be $20 drop-in)

This week is the start of our International West Coast Swing Rally Classes!

WCS Rally FAQ:

Do I need previous West Coast Swing Experience?

No, you are able to study this routine and with practice and consistency anyone can learn where to be at the right time :)  If you have other dance experience it will help accelerate your learning, also if you take both classes each week it will build more confidence and muscle memory.

What if I don't have a dance partner?

Not a problem, everyone switches partners throughout these classes and even during the performances (unless you sign up with a partner in advance).  This also accelerates the learning for everyone, PLUS our instructors will be performing with different people each time as well.

I am not interested in performing, why would I want to join this class?

The point of a Dance Rally (or Flash Mob) is to create community by seeing and making friends with the same people in class each week, learning and practicing a dance regularly, and spreading joy to those around the community by sharing people of all ages and abilities joyfully dancing together to great music.    

How much does this cost?

It does not cost anything to be part of dancing the West Coast Swing Rally with us.  If you are an experienced dancer who can easily learn off a video, you can watch the video online HERE and study THIS VIDEO BREAKDOWN, then just bring a partner along and join us for the performances the 4th-10th of September.  The investment to learn , practice, be part of community, make friends, and build confidence and technique from The Crystal Ballroom is $180 for all 18 classes, $120 for 9 classes.

Ok, so how do I actually get started with this?

Show up Wednesday or Thursday night slightly before 6:15pm to sign up and get started with us!  Or, if you have questions, contact me at 614-881-4500.  We can always set up an in-person meeting to answer questions and make sure you are plugged into the studio in a way that helps you reach your goals! :)

Speaking of great groups to be a part of... our Spice Girls/BackStreet Boys Group Social Formation is scheduled to begin on July 15th at 7:45pm! I am so excited to create this routine with you all!  Get ready CBC, you won't know what hit you!  All levels are welcome to join this routine, we'll have 10 classes to get comfortable with it and then on August 20th we'll head to CBC to show off our awesome studio!  If you haven't confirmed that you are going to be part of this yet, please let me know ASAP so I can keep you in the loop on the group messages!

Summer Out on the Town - Sunday July 12th!

Join us at the Westerville Music & Arts Festival!

Wear blue to represent The Crystal Ballroom and join us from Noon-2pm for some dancing out on the town!  Remember to wear shoes that you can dance on brick, cement, wood, grass or gravel and show our community how fun it is to dance! It is $2 per person to attend the Festival at Heritage Park Westerville!

Ballroom Dance Swapmeet

Time to clear out the dancewear and shoes you don't use!

On Saturday July 25th bring along all of the dance clothes and shoes you no longer wear to swap with, sell to, or give to others.  Gentlemen, this includes you!  So far we have both mens and womens clothes and shoes as well as dancewear, and competition wear planned! Setup is from 3:30pm-5pm, SwapMeet is from 5pm-8pm, Enjoy a social ballroom dance afterwards for only $20!

Both Fergie and I have the chance to choreography, perform, and raise money for a great cause this year for the Byron Saunders Foundation Fundraiser!  Purchase your tickets HERE to sit at The Crystal Ballroom Tables at this event! This organization is fantastic since all of the profit goes directly to feeding families in the Columbus area!  We will be planning another opportunity to volunteer and pack boxes as well this year!

Silver Cha Cha I

Starting in November we will begin Silver Medal Classes!

Get ready to experience advanced group classes at The Crystal Ballroom!  Start thinking now about what private instruction you may need to support this new information and movement! You must Pass the PreRequisite Tests to Qualify for Silver Medal Classes at The Crystal Ballroom! (Dance Vision Student Achievement Awards Qualify as well as a Pre-Req Test in Bronze Levels I-IV)

This week join us for group classes all week long, private lessons around your schedule, Friday enjoy our West Coast Swing Night, then Saturday enjoy 2 levels of Cha Cha before our Wonderful Saturday Night Ballroom Party!!!
