New Classes - East Coast Swing & Bolero, Instructor News :)

Hello everyone!

The energy in the studio is up and we're grateful to have all of you as part of our community of dancers!  If you haven't been to a ballroom party in a while, it's time to come back and give it a go!!

We are excited to welcome our newest dance instructor!  Shavon made her first official appearance as part of our Crystal Ballroom Staff this weekend at the party.  On Thursday she passed out of her teacher training and officially joined the Crystal Ballroom as a project coordinator and creator.  Look for new programs coming soon as Shavon shares her love of dance with new groups!  There is discussion of a youth program, youth summer camps, mommy & me classes, rec center programming, country club outreach, wedding shows, and more!  If you have ideas of ways we can reach into the community and bring dance to even more people, please let us know!!

Congrats to one of our other instructors, Sammy on his season finale performances with Whirlwind Dance Company this past weekend, he has been rehearsing nonstop to be part of 6 pieces in the show.  And, now we are lucky to have him in the studio more during the summer break!

Happy Birthday to our 3rd wonderful instructor, Holly.  When you see her around this week wish her a happy birthday!!  

If you love being part of the fun, the excitement, and activity of the ballroom, sign up now to meet and discuss our upcoming formations, Amateur Ballroom Competition Team, and ProAm Competition Team! Individual meeting will be held to discuss the details and set up a customized plan!  If you want to see huge differences in your dancing, be part of team, and have a solid goal, this is a great way to experience the stairway to success.  Our next competition is CBC Dancesport in August. This competition is hosted in Polaris just about 10 minutes from the studio and includes ballroom dancers from all over the country.

There is a fun Club Night on Thursday at the Competition (we'll be putting together a Viennese Waltz Formation to Metallica - get ready to dress in leather and show off as a group), then competition all day Friday and Saturday!  

We have a new opportunity beginning for those who are interested in starting a career as a dance instructor.  It is an intense 100 hour - 1 month course to prepare potential dance instructors from 0 knowledge of ballroom to the ability to start in the industry.  If you know anyone looking for an active career in the arts where they can be physically, mentally and creatively challenged, let them know about this opportunity!  People that typically succeed in the ballroom industry are veterans, former athletes, dancers, or musicians.  If you know anyone getting ready to wrap up their college athletic career who would rather stay moving than find a desk job, this is the perfect opportunity for them!  We will be organizing the first Crystal Ballroom Teacher Training Class to begin in May. If you know someone who is interested, physically able to dance 25-40 hours per week and looking for a career opportunity that involves being around, coaching, and teaching people, please send them THIS LINK!!!!
